On Wednesday, 27th May 2026, AIUB Computer Club (ACC) held its Recruitment Ceremony for the Spring 2025-2026 session. The ceremony brought together current members and newly recruited students for an evening of celebration, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for its newly recruited members.
The event started at 5 PM with enthusiasm and excitement from the new members. The hosts, Wasif and Ahana, welcomed everyone to the ceremony and set the tone for the evening. Israt and Porash , serving as game hosts, added an engaging and lively energy to the introduction. A briefing was provided about the foundation of ACC, giving newly recruited members an understanding of the club’s history, values and legacy within AIUB.
Mr. Abhijit Bhowmik, Associate Professor and Special Assistant of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), Department of Computer Science, AIUB, joined the event along with Dr. S.A.M. Manzur H. Khan, Professor and Proctor, Department of Computer Science, AIUB. When invited by the host to speak, Mr. Abhijit Sir highlighted the significance of the club, sharing its value with both new and existing members. He engaged with students in a light- hearted manner, while also delivering a serious message urging students to be careful, responsible, and proactive. He outlined the benefits of attending workshops, seminars, and fests and emphasized how much students can learn from club alumni.
Dr. Manzur Sir was also asked to take the stage. He started his speech by warmly greeting everyone and praised ACC as an active club within AIUB. He praised the mentor, Mr. Abhijit Sir, for his dedication and guidance to the club. Dr. Manzur Sir reminisced fondly about his own university life. He also spoke about the unity that serves as the driving force behind ACC.
The President of ACC, Abu Jafar Sisty, took to the stage and greeted everyone. He delivered a comprehensive briefing about the major fest of ACC and introduced the various wings of AIUB, helping new members understand the broader aspects of student organizations and how ACC fits within it.
The ceremony was marked by a deeply heartfelt speech from the Vice President of ACC, Hossain Mohammad Sami, as he delivered a speech reflecting on his journey with the club as he prepared to conclude his final semester, a moment that resonated strongly with the member.
Istiaq Mozumder, General Secretary of ACC, similarly took to the stage and gave a heartfelt speech, sharing his experiences and well-wishes for the club and its incoming members.
The Assistant General Secretaries of each team of ACC formally introduced themselves to the new recruits, shared insights into their respective work procedures, and warmly invited everyone to become a part of their teams. An ACC alumni, Sakib Hasan Jim, also took the stage and delivered a heartfelt speech reflecting on his journey with ACC. His words carried the weight of experience and genuine emotion, left a lasting impression on everyone present.
The formal proceedings of the evening transitioned into a vibrant cultural performance segment, bringing an exciting and celebratory atmosphere to the ceremony.
The Recruitment Ceremony for Spring 2025–2026 concluded with a photo session, bringing together all attendees. The evening stood as a testament to the warmth, enthusiasm and strong sense of community that defines AIUB Computer Club.
