On 4th July 2020, AIUB Computer Club (ACC) organized its second virtual workshop on “LinkedIn and CV Writing”. The workshop was conducted by Saif Hassan, Product Manager, weDevs and Former Assistant General Secretary – Media and Publication, ACC. Nazir Ahmed, Head of HR & Admin, weDevs also joined the workshop as a guest speaker. The workshop was organized for the club members in order to ameliorate their skill on creating a professional LinkedIn profile and to meet their queries regarding effective CV writing.
The host of this workshop was Jamil Mahmud Sakib, Assistant General Secretary – Research and Development, who commenced the workshop at 5:45 PM with his welcome speech. Then, S.M. Raihan Gafur, President, AIUB Computer Club (ACC) joined the session and introduced the main speaker, Saif Hassan and the guest speaker Nazir Ahmed.
The workshop was divided into two sessions. Saif Hassan began the first session by welcoming everyone and talked about the importance of LinkedIn profile in today’s world. Afterward, He discussed how an organized LinkedIn profile can help someone to stand out in the job market. Then, he described different sections of a LinkedIn profile and provided examples of some good LinkedIn profile.
The second session of the workshop began after a short break for maghrib prayer. This session was taken by Nazir Ahmed, where he explained the importance of effective CV writing. He explained how different companies judge their candidate’s CVs during the recruitment process and provided some valuable tips to improve their CV. There was also a question-answer session where the participants asked various questions regarding the topic.
The session was also graced by the presence of Abhijit Bhowmik, Associate Professor, and Special Assistant of OSA, AIUB. He provided some valuable tips on CV writing and concluded the session by appreciating the speaker and the guest. The workshop was successful with the presence of more than 40 members.
