On Sunday, 12 April 2026, a seminar titled “bTechWhiz: Engineering Intelligence at Scale” organized by Office of Placement & Alumni (OPA), in collaboration with AIUB Computer Club (ACC) and in association with bKash Limited was successfully held.
The main objective of the seminar was to enhance the knowledge of students about modern engineering intelligence and the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) in modern life.
The event started with an opening speech delivered by Mr. Mashiour Rahman, Senior Associate Professor, Dean-In-Charge, Faculty of Science & Technology (FST), American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) with warm greetings. In his speech, he warmly welcomed all the guests, faculties, and participants and talked about the main objective of the event.
One of the notable speeches was given by Mr. R.Tareque Moudud, Assistant Professor, Director, Office of Placement & Alumni (OPA), American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). In his speech, he aspired students to thrive for gaining skills and knowledge that would help them to come up with real life solutions related to modern engineering and Artificial Intelligence.
The first speaker, Mr. Shuvro Sarker, Senior Vice President of Advanced Research & Engineering at bKash Limited, delivered an insightful session on development of AI systems and solving real life problems using technology. His speech emphasized that AI provides a great opportunity for Bangladesh to develop solutions for local challenges.
The second speaker, Mr. Mazharul Islam, General Manager of Advanced Research & Engineering at bKash Limited, conducted an engaging session in which he discussed regarding innovation in digital financial systems and development of scalable and reliable software through engineering solutions. The speaker shared his journey as an AIUB graduate, which inspired students to act towards building careers in engineering fields.
After the session ended, a token of appreciation was given to both by Mr. Abhijit Bhowmik, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Special Assistant, Office of Student Affairs (OSA), American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) and Mr. R.Tareque Moudud, Assistant Professor, Director, Office of Placement & Alumni (OPA), American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB).
Ms. Jannatul Nusrat, Officer, Office of Placement & Alumni (OPA), American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) and Mr. Hossain Mohammad Salehin, Officer, Office of Placement & Alumni (OPA), American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) were also present in the seminar.
The seminar concluded with an interactive Q&A session. Students participated enthusiastically and got knowledgeable insights regarding engineering and AI. The event was highly informative and inspiring for students. Overall, the seminar was very impactful, and students got motivation to build innovative solutions for real life problems.
