On last Thursday, August 28, 2025, AIUB Computer Club organized an industry visit to Brain Station 23, a renowned software development company to provide 30 final year students with valuable insights into technology, industry expectations and career pathways. Students were accompanied by Abhijit Bhowmik, Associate Professor and Special Assistant of Office of Students Affairs (OSA) and Md. Ariful Islam, Lecturer, Department of Computer Science. The event was structured into four sessions, each focusing on different aspects of professional growth and emerging technologies. The session began at 2:25 PM with a briefing, followed by the main presentation at 3:00 PM.
The first session by Mohoiminul Sohol introduced Brainstation, an organization with a long standing history since its foundation in 2006. Participants were acquainted with the company’s profile, its certifications and notable clients, including MyGP, Shwapno, and Citytouch. The presentation highlighted Brainstation’s growth and contributions to the IT industry.
The second session Career Guideline conducted by A B M Owal Ikramul Islam focused on career development and guidance for aspiring professionals. Key areas discussed included Academic Preparation, Industry Expectations, Practical Preparation, Soft Skills Development, Common Mistakes to Avoid and Advice for Students. Mr.Islam also introduced two specialized programs named Star Coder and Learnathon which are designed to nurture talent and provide real world learning experiences. He concluded with practical tips, motivational insights and a Q&A session, where participants clarified their doubts.
The third session Introduction to XR and Business Analyst by Ziad Mohib explored extended reality (XR) technologies, including AR (Augmented Reality), MR (Mixed Reality) and VR (Virtual Reality). Real-world applications such as the Bata Shoe Simulator, Unilever Marvel 3, Virtual Jersey Try-On and Robi’s AI Wish were showcased. Additionally, the role of the Business Analyst was explained, emphasizing its connection to the Software Development Lifecycle and the importance of career roadmaps in this domain.
The final session AI Introduction and Career Path was conducted by Khair Ahammed, who introduced the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence. He discussed the history of AI, different types of AI and the diverse career paths available in this fast-growing field. His talk highlighted the importance of keeping pace with technological evolution to thrive in AI-related roles.
Additionally, two of AIUB Computer Club Alumni Md. Ferdous Akhter, Senior Software Engineer at Brain Station 23 PLC and MD Shajahan Islam Sani, Software Project Manager at Brain Station 23 PLC had an interactive session and shared their experiences with everyone.
The workshop concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where attendees interacted with the speakers to deepen their understanding of the topics discussed and a group photo was clicked. Overall, the workshop provided a valuable mix of industry knowledge, technical exposure and career guidance, making it highly beneficial for aspiring professionals.
