On March 4th, 2024, the AIUB Computer Club organized an online session titled “AIUB: Time to Push the Boundaries of The Data World.” featuring the flagship event “Datathon 3.0 Roadshow” in collaboration with Robi. The workshop took place at 7:00 PM on the Microsoft Teams platform. Ms. Tunaj Ahmed, (Assistant General Secretary of Midea and Publication at AIUB Computer Club), conducted the session. This event served as a gateway for students to embark on an exhilarating journey into the realms of AI and Data Science.
In the beginning of the session, Dr. Debajyoti Karmaker (Associate professor [Deep Learning, Machine Learning researcher], Department of Computer Science) started by giving a valuable speech. He explores the splendid thought of AI and Machine Learning. He explains the appreciation of Data Science in the world. He also thrilled the extension how we can enter the world of AI. Then he thanked Robi and welcomed students for joining this event. Then the speaker of the event Ms. Kanita Maisha (Manager, Analytics Center of Excellence, Corporate Strategy at Robi Axiata Limited) started to illuminate RobiDatathon. She anticipates that RobiDatathon would offer an excellent platform for data adherents to showcase their abilities. In addition, she expects to interact with exceptional data and machine learning enthusiasts during this event, who will provide remarkable answers and suggestions for problems. She gives a brief overview of the sponsors and their contributions to ensuring the successful execution of this Datathon that demonstrates the broad level of networking across the data community.
Ms. Maisha expressed her insights on the impact of data science and machine learning on shaping the future. She conveyed to the audience that Robi consistently assesses this data to enhance the quality of service provided to their clients and implements data to enhance business models and maximize profits. Additionally, Ms. Maisha anticipates that this competition will facilitate the participants’ acquisition of knowledge regarding the functioning of the business realm. She emphasized the notable achievements of Robi Axiata Limited in the global arena of big data science and machine learning. However, Mr. Nazarekh Rahman, an alumnus of AIUB (Manager of Revenue Assurance at Robi Axiata Limited), shared his insights with the attendees who were interested in data. Ms. Maisha comprehensively explains how to partake in Robi Datathon 3.0. She also answers all the queries, increasing data enthusiasts’ participation and passion.
At the end of the event, Ms. Tunaj wrapped up the meeting and offered deep appreciation to the honorable speaker and all attendees for their presence at the workshop. Attending this highly popular session, students acquire a more comprehensive comprehension of the concept of Datathon.
