A seminar titled “Rising Gaming Industry in Bangladesh” was stationed by Riseup Labs in association with AIUB Computer Club (ACC) on Monday, June 12, 2023, at the Multipurpose Hall (D – Building) of American International University-Bangladesh. The most anticipated guests Mr. Ershadul Hoque, Founder & CEO of Riseup Labs, Md. Rafiquzzaman, Head of Product Development of Riseup Labs, Mr. Jamil Mahmud, Product Manager of Riseup Labs, Mr. Wasif Zaman, Senior SQA Engineer of Riseup Labs, Mr. S. M. Raihan Gafur, Software Engineer (Node.js) of Riseup Labs were present in the seminar. Mr. Abhijit Bhowmik, Associate Professor and Special Assistant of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) was also present among others. The hosts of the session were Ms. Tunaj Ahmed and Mr. Shohan Morol, General Members of AIUB Computer Club.
Ms. Tunaj and Mr. Morol initiate the session with a warm ovation to the guests and the audience. The session was begun with the opening speech of Mr. Rafiquzzaman. He talked about the Bangladeshi gaming industry, a study of different games and plans, game designing, GDD, the marketing scheme of the gaming sector, emergent assets, Resources augmentation, and all other criteria that can benefit the era of gaming in Bangladesh. Mr. Rafiquzzaman also portrayed a statistic in the potential revenue growth of gaming industries which is from 8.4% to 18.23% during the period of 2017 to 2027. He further made the audience familiar with the purposes of gaming platforms as well as gave a short overview of their organization.
Later, Mr. Wasif took the floor and gave his view on software quality and testing in the gaming industry and how Riseup Labs do software quality measurement. He also upheld the current scenario of testing software and the importance of quality assurance. Mr. Wasif picked some use cases and elaborated on them to give audiences a clear idea about software quality assurance.
After that, Mr. Mahmud talked about the scheme of product management. He narrated about managing a product starting from idea generation, product design, product development, product testing, product deployment to the marketplace, and marketing the product for achieving a product’s goal successfully. He also talked about how Riseup Labs takes on new challenges every day and makes software products for all over the globe.
Mr. Raihan then shared his backend development experience in making an exclusive product of Riseup Labs which is Jeeto.Online. He also talked about Jeeto.Online’s campus activation program initialization and AIUB is the first place from where they are starting their campus activation program. Mr. Raihan also elaborated the tentative marketplace, popular gaming platforms, industrial scopes, and regulatory bodies of the gaming industry and gave a description of Jeeto.Online’s mission and vision.
Mr. Hoque took the floor to give some of his crucial advice and gaming industry insights. He shared Riseup Labs’ establishment history, their team effort, product development for big organizations, and regular collaboration with them. He explicitly gave an overview of their mission and vision to transfer the Bangladesh gaming industry to a whole new level.
Most importantly, all the speakers narrated about the Bangladeshi gaming industry’s recognizing phenomena all over the world, the challenges of this growing industry in Bangladesh, the likelihood of game designers, future scope, personal experience, game psychology, and so on. They also gave a quick overview of game-making tools like game engines and their parts such as Unity, Unreal, Cocos, etc. They also talked about games developed by Riseup Labs of different genres like actions, puzzles, kids, and many more.
At the end of the session, Mr. Bhowmik came on stage and handed over some tokens of gratuity to all the speakers and inspired the audience to think about the gaming sector and the scope to show their creativity and raise this industry to new heights. The session was concluded with a group photo.
