Posts and Telecommunications Division (PTD) in collaboration with ISP Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) and in association with AIUB Computer Club (ACC) has organized the 3-day-long DIGITAL BANGLADESH MELA 2023 at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC), Sher-E-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka.
This was the largest exhibition to showcase Internet Services, Software, e-commerce, 5G, AI, Robotics, IOT, ITES and ICT solutions in Bangladesh. On the opening day, a video message from the honorable Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina was introduced. Later, special guests and chief guests gave their valuable speeches on the importance and establishment of the mela. 32 mini pavilions and 17 innovation stalls were set up. About 30000 visitors came to visit different stalls on the opening day.
The second day attracted more visitors. Nearly 50,000 visitors came to visit different innovations and stalls. There was a voting system and engaging contests throughout the mela to make the mela more attractive and enjoyable. The mela brought together all the ISPs, ICT companies, key policymakers, government representatives, industry leaders and internet users under one platform. Government organizations, such as BTRC, DOT, BTCL, Teletalk, BSCCL, BCSCL and high officials from other ministries and organizations took participation and showcased their organizations’ missions and visions.
The last day of the event gave the full overview and main objective of executing the mela which is to make Bangladesh a Smart Bangladesh. The innovations and deep technological use in different projects meet the goal of the mela. The best innovators and exhibitors were awarded crests and well-figured prize money. And all the participants who participated and showcased their projects and exhibited their company stalls were awarded crests. The event successfully ended with a cultural program and a post-event video clip.
